This vibrant, exotic sauce, mixed with fresh garlic and brightening lime juice, turns the simple mayo into a dip that is incredibly addicting and versatile.
But what’s shiracha?
Sriracha is a hot sauce or chili sauce originally from Thailand and it’s made from chili pepper, vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. Its mild flavor makes it suitable for a wide range of uses and palates.
Mixing the hot sriracha with velvety mayonnaise makes a dip sauce that is bursting with flavor and adds the perfect zing to sandwiches, tacos, and grilled or baked crispy veggies and fish!
And it’s not overwhelming or super hot, because the creamy mayonnaise balances the heat and the fresh lime juice helps to brighten up the flavor.
It’s seriously addictive. In no time, you will be looking for anything and everything to dip in it, I promise.
And it’s ridiculously simple to make.

Recipe notes
Sriracha aioli ingredients
Mayonnaise: good-quality mayonnaise is essential, it’s the main ingredient here and brings texture and flavor. You’re welcome to use your favourite vegan mayonnaise if you wish, it’s a no brainer.
Sriracha: flavour and consistency of sriracha sauce varies from brand to brand. It is generally spicy with a tangy, sweet flavour and a consistency similar to ketchup. Add more sriracha or a touch of cayenne pepper if you prefer a spicier sauce.
Lime juice: fresh and delicious, lime helps to brighten up the flavor and adds a bit of acidity. You can use lemon juice as a substitution.
Garlic: finely grating the garlic is the best way to go. I use a microplane for this task, I want the garlic flavor to stand out here but keeping the texture as smooth as possible. Use more garlic if you like.
Salt: it’s important to adjust the seasoning as needed to make the final favour pops.
How long does it last?
It keeps well in the refrigerator, properly stored in airtight container, for up to 1 week. I wouldn’t keep it for long because it contains raw garlic.
